Terms and Conditions

University Rifle Club Inc (“URC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(4) membership club founded in 1916. We promote responsible firearms education, training, and community. Most facilities and events are for members only. Some activities may be open to the public at URC’s discretion.

All prices are in U.S. dollars (USD). Current prices are also listed on our Membership page.

• Senior Membership: $150 per year. A full, voting member with complete range privileges.
• Application fee: $200, one time, new members only. A new Senior member pays $350 the first year ($200 application fee + $150 dues).
• Orientation reservation fee: $50. Applied toward the new-member total.
• Associate Member add-on: $30 per year. Spouse or significant other of a Senior member.
• Junior Member add-on: $0. Age 18 and under, still in high school.
• Guest fee: $15 per guest.
• Donations: optional, any amount.

A membership runs 12 months. Membership gives you access to the club’s range and facilities under the club’s rules. It does not include firearms, ammunition, or equipment.

• Online by credit or debit card. We email you an invoice with a secure payment link.
• By cash or check at the club. Make checks payable to University Rifle Club. Mail them to P.O. Box 4065, Reading, PA 19606, or leave them in the drop box on the clubhouse porch.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe’s secure, PCI-compliant system. URC never receives or stores your full card number.

• Your membership does not renew or charge your card automatically.
• Renewal reminders start 70 days before your renewal date.
• To renew, fill out the renewal form. We then email you an invoice. Pay it online by card, or by cash or check.
• Your renewal is complete when we receive your payment.
• There is no grace period. If you don’t pay by your renewal date, your membership ends. To come back, you must attend New Member Orientation again and pay a new application fee.

• New members: the application fee and first-year dues are refunded, less background-check costs, only if your membership is not approved.
• Reservation fee: the $50 orientation reservation fee is refundable. To request a refund, contact [email protected].
• After approval: all dues, renewal payments, guest fees, and event fees are final and non-refundable.
• Donations are final and non-refundable.
• Cancelling: you can stop being a member at any time by not renewing. Dues already paid are not refunded for unused months.
• Suspension or termination for a rules or safety violation is without refund (see section 8).
• Billing mistakes: if you were charged twice or charged the wrong amount, contact us and we will refund the difference to your original payment method.
• Before you dispute a charge with your bank, please contact us first so we can fix it.

Donations help support the club. Donations to University Rifle Club Inc are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Donations are final and non-refundable.

• New members must attend New Member Orientation and pass a background check.
• Members and guests must be legally allowed to possess firearms under federal and Pennsylvania law.
• Junior members must be at the range with the Senior or Associate member on their account.
• URC may approve or decline any application.

All members and guests must follow URC’s firearm-safety rules, federal and state laws, and all posted range rules. A safety violation or misconduct may result in immediate suspension or termination of membership without refund.

Shooting and related activities involve inherent risk, including serious injury or death. By entering URC property or taking part in any URC activity, you voluntarily assume all such risks and agree to hold harmless and indemnify University Rifle Club Inc, its officers, employees, and volunteers from any claims, losses, or damages arising from club activities or use of the facilities.

By providing your phone number, email address, or other contact information, you consent to receive account notifications, event reminders, customer-support messages, and occasional promotions or club announcements from University Rifle Club Inc, including information about training sessions, safety updates, and membership opportunities. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. Consent is not a condition of purchase or membership approval. Mobile opt-in data and consent information are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. All text communications are subject to these Terms and URC’s Privacy Policy.

Guests may attend certain events or training sessions at URC’s discretion. Some events may be open to the public. Others require a member to accompany the guest. All guests must sign a waiver before any shooting activity.

All content on universityrifle.org — including logos, text, images, and materials — is the property of URC and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without written consent. Use the site only for lawful purposes related to URC membership and activities.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, URC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your participation in club activities, use of URC property, or reliance on website information.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless University Rifle Club Inc, its officers, employees, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of your actions, negligence, or violation of these Terms.

URC may suspend or end a membership or website access at any time for violation of these Terms, misconduct, or behavior inconsistent with the club’s mission or safety standards.

These Terms and all disputes are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Exclusive venue for any legal action is Berks County, Pennsylvania.

URC may change these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on universityrifle.org with a new effective date. Continued membership or use of our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
